Blast From The Past

Will explain the title later....

Today: mostly cloudy skies (maybe a peak of sunshine out there) High temp of 83 degrees, definitely feelings a BIT warmer than that from these light southerly winds we will get a humid feel.  We can see a spot shower today, doesn't look like a big deal for us...but according to the RPM (rapid precision model) looks like CT will get some heavy storms tonight...but for us just a shower. And we drop down to 69 degrees, those clouds def help keep in some of the "heat"
Tomorrow: the front that will give us that rain is outta here :) leaving us with air filtering down from Canada = LESS humidity & MORE sun...this will last for the next couple of days....I'll keep ya posted on red, white and brews...I mean red, white and BLUE day (July 4th)

So all these encounters with the past got me thinking about weather IN HISTORY for today...
1788: The Battle of Monmouth (NJ) was fought in 98 degree heat in the shade, more deaths were heat related
1975: Lee Tevino and two golfers were struck by lightning at the Western Open golf tournament.
1989: CRAZY storms in the SW...Winnfield, LA got 1" in about 1 hour, rain totals around 17" in two days in LA, 2" hail broke windows in every buidling in Comstock, NE
