T G I T, T G I T, T G I T...wwwoooohhooooaaaa

Totally loving Katy Perry's new song today...so why not change the lyrics to fit today!  And yesterday I got a random text from my brother singing that part of the song! LOVE IT!

I also LOVE today's weather! High of 84 degrees today...and it will feel like that too! Skies over head giving us lots of sunshine, maybe some cumlus (big, white & puffy) clouds in the late afternoon as we heat up during the day. Well lose heating going into the night as the sun sets at 8:31 (to be exact)...and as a result mostly clear skies....so get the fireworks started early tonight to kick off independence day weekenddd! (today is MY friday!)

Only down fall to this weather is....dry, dead, fizzy hair.  Reason why? Well there is no moisture in the air at all, to help keep it looking healthy.  Dewpoint is forecasted to bottom out at 52 today, thats 32 degrees from our air temperature of 84 today.  The bigger the number, the DRIER the air and the lower the humdity.  But the bad hair day will continue straight through...as the humidity returns on Saturday.

Triple Play

Blast From The Past

Will explain the title later....

Today: mostly cloudy skies (maybe a peak of sunshine out there) High temp of 83 degrees, definitely feelings a BIT warmer than that from these light southerly winds we will get a humid feel.  We can see a spot shower today, doesn't look like a big deal for us...but according to the RPM (rapid precision model) looks like CT will get some heavy storms tonight...but for us just a shower. And we drop down to 69 degrees, those clouds def help keep in some of the "heat"
Tomorrow: the front that will give us that rain is outta here :) leaving us with air filtering down from Canada = LESS humidity & MORE sun...this will last for the next couple of days....I'll keep ya posted on red, white and brews...I mean red, white and BLUE day (July 4th)

So all these encounters with the past got me thinking about weather IN HISTORY for today...
1788: The Battle of Monmouth (NJ) was fought in 98 degree heat in the shade, more deaths were heat related
1975: Lee Tevino and two golfers were struck by lightning at the Western Open golf tournament.
1989: CRAZY storms in the SW...Winnfield, LA got 1" in about 1 hour, rain totals around 17" in two days in LA, 2" hail broke windows in every buidling in Comstock, NE

And It's Monday...

Today will be another nice, dry day! Seasonably warm temps as well :)

Class of 2011

What a perfect day to have a graduation party...
Mostly sunny skies, high of 83 degrees, light winds and low humidity as well.
We are def opening up all of our doors and windows, ideal for an open house...we're gonna have constant food from 2 o'clock on...AND coffee fully loaded at all times :)
How cute are these...simple too! reese + chocolate gram cracker + mini m&m + fruit roll up + meltable chocolate = mortar board (duhh...simple math)

Key To My Heart

If there are any takers out there, hello EXTREMELY single, well you can surprise me with some frozen yogurt! Only catch is...I'm lactose intolerant, so just bring some lactose pills. But anyways...I could eat this for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!

My favorite is just original, blueberries, strawberries and coconut...so simple but that plain tangy yogurt taste is really something you can ONLY get from yogurt and some places just don't get it right....I am NOT a fan of the ice cream tasting ones.
My friends and mine: guess which one is mine!!!...

So I got an email yesterday from Hungry Girl and she did a whole write up about soft serve frozen yogurt! Very helpful tips from her. Here is her direct link.

AND thenn...I just found out, that up the road from me a YOGURTLAND is moving in! I pass the location every tue, wed, thu....def stopping there to get dinner :) So I will be accepting gift cards from this point forward :) Here their website. They have amazing flavors....not typical ones either, which is the great part about it!

Go to TCBY and make up you dessert, and it will count the total calories. HOW COOL IS THIS!? I just made coffee flavor, with bananas, blackberries, raspberries, and blueberries = less than 200 cals!

Early Bird Gets the Worm...

So today I woke up at 7am, from my internal alarm clock...went down stairs had a glass of WATER, turned on the news....then made coffee for my entire family! (how sweet?!) For breakfast I had some dried mangoes (kinda wish I didn't), but then I had greek yogurt...LOVE LOVE LOVE, with blueberries (duhh!) and a nectarine...I saw that combo in a Special K commercial...would not have thought on that on my own.
example: yumm!
Then for my coffee...took to cups, added some cinnamon, chocolate creamer, and lactose free milk...with a cookies & cream flavored straw (BEST IDEA EVER)

And then I did my workout...40 (walk/run) mins on the treadmill, then some arm exercises with 5 lbs EACH :) and then P90X abs...ouch.

Done for the day...enjoy!
Some storms are making it way to our area..could be severe. Going to be hanging out with the titan radar for my afternoon.

 (Update: take two)
What a day we've had...but it was like the metro area could fuel the storms, they kinda fizzled out once they reached that layer of fog over us...or dove to the south of us. South Jersey got rocked...kinda funny that my friends in SJ were texting me about the weather...once I hear about the damage I will update.  I know 3 people were stuck by lightning (2 in middlesex, 1 in ocean) and there were power outages as well as trees knocked down and damage all over, lots of lightning accompanied the storms as well.

And I'll confess...Dinner: Skinny Cow Ice Cream (Dolce De Leche), walnuts, m&ms, popcorn. So unhealthy...def starting tomorrow off right!

Rain Rain, Come Again!

Well...not that I want the rain here anymore, but the blueberries are harvesting early this year b/c south jersey (where blueberries are harvested) got SOOO much rain this spring! That's GREAT news...so more spring rain = early blueberries = healthier body sooner.  Amazing how weather relates to everything!

Some pretty crazy weather going on in south jersey yesterday as well...
These pictures and video are from Jackson, NJ....there were storm reports at Great Adventure of just some trees knocked down.  But definitely a severe storm passed through the Jackson/Freehold/Toms River area yesterday.

And I didn't get a chance to update b/c I was getting ready to go to a OUTDOOR graduation on ALUMINUM bleachers while Randolph (North Jersey) was under a severe thunderstorm warning and tornado warning...smart, must have been only high school (lol)

But lesson of the day...GO GET YOUR BLUEBERRIES, like now!

Happy Summer!

Well of course I will update at precisely 1:16 PM...as it is officially sweet summer time.  I am at my internship though (not sure if I am allowed to be on the blog--I'll make it quick and update later)

Well here are some of the quick reasons why I love the summer time...
1. Summer time foods- gotta love a good BBQ
2. The fashion! they don't call them "sun dresses" for nothing!
3. Afternoon pop-up storms...since we get good daytime heating, we can see some storms (of course other factors as well)

Update (take 2)
We are still on the lookout to see some pop up thunderstorms today..as it is extremely/uncomfortable humid outside, with some sunshine over head...all good to contribute to see some storms later on.
We are starting to enter the summer-like (Florida..really) pattern of sun and cloud humid mix with afternoon thunderstorms.  We will see this today through Friday...maybe Saturday, still unsettled though. I'll keep on eye on it, just cause we all want a PERFECT weekend!

Wednesday: Scattered showers/t-storms/heavy rain. High: 82/Low: 71
Thursday: Scattered showers/t-storms/heavy rain. High: 83/Low: 69
Friday: Isolated showers/t-storms. High: 83/Low: 68
Saturday: Chance for showers/t-storms. High: 83/Low: 65
Sunday: Partly Sunny. High:83/Low: 66

So update on my summer diet: I did P90X abs yesterday...still feeling it! Highlyyyyyy recommend doing those exercises..they are killer! And word is that P90X is legit...I'm sure anything is as long as you stick to it. Anyways...workout time while watching eyewitness news first at 4:00pm.

Last Day!

Today's the last day of spring...and the last day of not seeing a rain chance this week.  We will remain dry throughout the entire day today, under partly sunny skies and a high temp of 84 and a low of 65.  There will be an easterly wind from 5-8 mph. We'll have a chance to see some rain/t-storms Tuesday through Saturday...no washouts, but a chance of a pop up storm.

So being that June is national fresh fruit and vegetable month...I am going to start eating healthy.  For breakfast I had a greek yogurt with blueberries. Last Day of Spring, First day of Diet.

...ps birthday in 38 days

Happy Father's Day

The ONLY thing my dad asked from us, is no yelling.  I have to keep my mouth shut today :x  My father's day read..."Dad, you're just like my credit cards...I'll never be able to pay you back" hehe  I also made my dad a breakfast...amazing...

So french toast might be the all time greatest breakfast food ever created.  But this recipe takes it to a whole new level...
1) Slice French bread into 20 slices, 1-inch each.
2) Throw slices into a greased 9 by 13-inch baking dish.
3) In a large bowl, combine the eggs, half-and-half, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt.
4) Pour mixture over the bread slices, making sure all are covered evenly with the milk-egg mixture.
5) Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight.
6) The next day, preheat oven to 350 degrees F and bake for 40 minutes.
7) Top with berries, whip cream, butter, maple syrup...ETC!
Simply Delicious

Mostly Sunny skies today with a high of 86, near 90! Not humid at all...so pleasantly warm conditions with a bit of a breeze, great day for dad and bbqs!

Sassy

So yesterday, I was shopping FOR my mom & my sister (may I add...NOT me) But I really wanted to get some "weather girl" dresses b/c I own like none! So I walk by h&m and I'm like "nah lets not go in, I never find anything from there..." And guess what, we go in and OF COURSE I get the most cutest dresses and flowy, flowery boho top...So I HIGHLY suggest a drop in!...cute stuff....

"Sassy" b/c I just watched a great movie! It was kinda chick flicky/ but had a great life lesson. If you need an adorable inspirational movie totally watch "Weather Girl" with Tricia O'Kelley.  She's (I think) drop dead gorgeous and now (one of) my idol(s).  And to add to that...its not like a "I hate my life" kinda chick flicky movie....It's cute, high recommended.

And what a PERFECT day today was for a picnic! I know I enjoyed the sunshine and temps in the 80s with a light breeze at times...hope you got to enjoy as well :)
