Perfect Day For A Picnic?

Is today a perfect day for a picnic??? Today is my meteorology club annual end of the year picnic!  I am putting it all together...and yes, I bought a TON of food! So today the sky will finally be sunny! But we will have the winds...a very windy day for us! (No wind date, just a rain date) And on the cool side...temps just breaking out of the 50s.  So at least its not cloudy & rainy!

We made it...TGIF! Happy Friday...enjoy today because starting Saturday night we will get our much needed rain.  But too much too fast will flood us!

Today and Tomorrow

Today: Mostly sunny. High temp of 70 and low temp of 49.

Get out today and tomorrow!  This weekend is going to be a washout...potentially flooding rain! The ground is so dry....so it cannot absorb water that quickly!  Water will just pond over the ground before it can be filtered down. We are going to keep a close eye on this one this weekend into Monday!

Another 10+ Degrees Cooler

Wednesday: Partly sunny. High temp of 65 and low temp of 51.

We are another 10+ degrees cooler from yesterday!  Yesterday's high temp was 81 degrees! But today, temps will still be above average...great for outdoor activities!  I'm going golfing/"caddying" :)

Still Warm, Just Not As Hot!

Settling winds is the story today. We are still going be to breezy...but we are not going to have the wind gusts.

It was been extremely dry and windy...which allowed for the development of brush fires!

Today: Partly sunny. Slight chance for showers and a thunderstorm. West wind 15-20 mph gusting up to 30.  High temp of 65 and low temp of 46.

Another windy day....fire (Red Flag Alert) warning is in effect again today...be careful with outdoor activities.  Yesterday there were 5 fires...1 in south jersey, 1 in staten island, and 3 on long island.

Easy Caramel Popcorn Recipe:

10 lg. marshmallows
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
4 qt.   popped corn 

1. Bring marshmallows, butter and brown sugar to a boil. 

2. Pour over popped corn.  

3. Cool.

Nature At Its Worst: Are You Prepared?

Today is our "Nature At Its Worst: Are You Prepared?" event!!!! It's going to be seriously awesome....hurricane simulator, survival tips, and survival giveaways! A speaker from the Red Cross will be here as well giving real life experiences and guides.  

Time to experience a Category 1 hurricane's winds head on...bring it on!

It will be at the UC room 228 from 12-4 PM...STOP BY!
