Today: Mostly sunny. High temp of 96 and low temp of 79.

Hot, hot, hot again today! But today will be even hotter!  Newark was the hot spot yesterday at 98 degrees! Tomorrow is going to be another 90 day, and if it does end up being 90 it will be our first official heat wave of the year/season :) Bring it on!

What a better holiday than national Flip-Flop day today!  It is totally flip-flop weather....dry conditions from start to finish, plenty of sun, and temps in the upper 70s!

We are finally sunny after the past cloudy and rainy days!  In fact, it took us a total of 14 days to get to the nice weather! And this nice weather is going to stick around for the next 7 days! An entire forecast...rain free! Get out an enjoy :)

Today looks to be dry...but the trend has been wet! Out of the past 10 days 9 of them have recorded rain! Our next chance to see some rain will be Tuesday night into Wednesday. This has the potential to bring us heavy rain and localized flooding.

Yesterday's Storm:

Game 6 Forecast:
The Devils won the last 2 games forcing a game 6 in LA at 5 PM west coast time and 8 PM EST.  Sunny skies with a temp of 79 for game time...Beautiful! Let's Go Devils!

Bachelorette:
Emily takes the guys to London, England in tonight's episode.  The weather there today...light rain with a high temp of 55 degrees. I wonder if Emily got nice weather while she was there?!? We'll find out tonight at 8 PM!

Today is the first day THIS WEEK where it will start nice and continue to be nice throughout the entire day.  Just keep in mind that we could see an isolated t-storm sometime between 3 PM & 10 PM.

For your weekend....well we will be warm! But I'm going to have to put in a slight chance to see an afternoon t-storm. So keep that in mind when making beach plans.

****Remember if you are dts (down the shore) the storms will move in from the WEST, so when you are facing the ocean (to the east) you will not see the storms moving in.  So please be careful! Also rip currents are a problem for swimmers, so make sure you swim out of the current.  Also make sure you know what the colored flags on the beach represent! We are on the up swing today! Temps are on the rise and cloud cover is starting to lessen. We will have periods of clouds today along with peeks of sunshine. But it's the temps that are improving the most! A warming trend is expected right through next week! Yes, we are talking 80s..see you later 60s and 70s!

Brr....COLD start this morning with temps in the 50s! What?! The record low temp is 47 (1945)...so very close! We will try to break out of the 60s, that is going to be another close one! But we keep the clouds and rain...

My look today is VERY fall...because today's high temp is the high temp for early October!

Locked In Cool Temps

If you were up early this morning...let's say 5:11 AM you saw the June Full Moon (Full Strawberry Moon...the Algonquin tribe used the moon to establish their strawberry harvesting season) 

We are locked in with cool temps for this entire week...we will not leave the lower 70s this week and we'll keep in the clouds and rain chances.  The jet stream has dipped and an omega BLOCK has set up shop...

Tropical Storm Alberto

Today: Cloudy with periods of rain. High temp of 67 and low temp of 58.

A tropical storm developed over the weekend right off the coast of South Carolina.  National Hurricane Center says this is the first time BOTH Atlantic and Pacific seasons have had named storms before the official start. (May 15th: Pacific & June 1st: Atlantic)

Game 4 Forecast:
The Rangers (2) will take on the Devils (1) tonight at the Prudential Center 8:00 tonight...
The rain today will be ending just before game time...so just some light showers in the area.  Temperature of 64 degrees (a jacket will be needed and a perfect excuse to wear a devils hat) Let's go devils....see you at the game :)

Today: Gradually clearing to mostly sunny with a chance for a thunderstorm.  High temp of 78 and low temp of 61.

Still have some fog out there waking up but that will burn off by 10 AM and then we'll see the sky become mostly sunny. In the evening hours there is a slight chance to see a thunderstorm. After midnight, skies clear and Thursday looks to be cloud free! YES!

Tonight is Game 2 at MSG...Rangers lead the series 1 to 0.

We made it...TGIF! Happy Friday...enjoy today because starting Saturday night we will get our much needed rain.  But too much too fast will flood us!

Get out today and tomorrow!  This weekend is going to be a washout...potentially flooding rain! The ground is so dry....so it cannot absorb water that quickly!  Water will just pond over the ground before it can be filtered down. We are going to keep a close eye on this one this weekend into Monday!

Settling winds is the story today. We are still going be to breezy...but we are not going to have the wind gusts.

Another windy day....fire (Red Flag Alert) warning is in effect again today...be careful with outdoor activities.  Yesterday there were 5 fires...1 in south jersey, 1 in staten island, and 3 on long island.

Easy Caramel Popcorn Recipe:

10 lg. marshmallows
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
4 qt.   popped corn 

1. Bring marshmallows, butter and brown sugar to a boil. 

2. Pour over popped corn.  

3. Cool.
