Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween! Today is the one day out of the year where you can be anything you want! Here your forecast to get you through the day today! :)

Also if your shoveling (you prob did it all yesterday....what a melt that took place yesterday! Barely had to shovel my deck!!!)....but for next time here's how you can look cute while doing such a heavy job!

The day after a snow storm is usually going to be pleasant with sunshine...so doing all those squats and moving around can be a workout.  So key is to dress warm, but light.
1. A hat that covers your ears - so the blowing snow doesn't give you the chills
2. A scarf for the same reason!
3. A hoodie (2 long sleeves underneath) not to heavy or bulky
4. Gloves - now these you can wear those water proof ones...but I decided to wear two...those cotton ones you can get for a dollar for a pack of 2 and another cotton pair, but heavy duty...they have leather strips on them.
5. Yoga pants - I have a pair of leggings underneath! LAYER LAYER LAYER!!
p.s my yoga pants have a pink stripe to match my hoodie :)
6. And of course my COACH snow boots ($100- Marshalls)

So the next time you HAVE to shovel...make it a fashion show, when else can you layer like that?!? :)

Recap The Nor'easter

Today: Mostly sunny.  High temp of 42 and low of 30.

We can def use today to melt SOME of that snow! But its time to recap the nor'easter...here's a simple explanation why we had all that snow....

The "L" is the low pressure and the arrows are pumping in all that moisture from the water...water temp about 60 degrees...so still relative warm compared to our 40 degree land temp...which is now cooled to 32 (freezing)...so another problem with that "L" is that there is another one down around FL...so all that moisture is being pumped up to our "L"! LOTS OF MOISTURE to work with!

Okay, this is why I LOVE this time of year (yes, I'm talking halloween and fall...not snow and winter). One of my fav candy is candy corn! Pure sugar....gotta love it! :)

October Snow

So today's forecast is going to be split...I am currently at home (in Randolph, 1000ft---and that is a key role in today's weather event) And yes, this is record breaking/history making October Snow! So I'll give you both forecasts...

Union, NJ
Today: Rain turning into a slushy mix in the afternoon.  Total snow accum...1-3 inches.  Temperature is at 44 to wake up and dropping.


Randolph, NJ
Today: Snow! Total snow accum...6-10 inches. Temperature is at 40 to wake up and dropping.

Now both locations are going to see some gusty winds....so expect winds!  Major problem is leaves still on

trees + snow = too much weight ----> snapping of branches

Today's Food Holiday

It's national oatmeal day! So perfect for days like this! Eat anything that hot! Oatmeal is always a good choice since you can add EVERYTHING to it to make it a hardy meal!

The "S" Word

Today:  Sunny and cool.  High temp of 52 and low temp of 40.

So today we stay on the cool side...but tomorrow we are "cold" and I will even break out the "s" word.  Expect to see some flakes fall tomorrow!  The further west you go, like around my home town!!!, accumulating snow...like snow blower and shoveling status!

I normal am not a snow fan, but I'm actually excited! :)

It's the most sweetest holiday ever today...national chocolate day.

Today: Cloudy and showers. High temp (this afternoon) of 55 and a low of 36 (tonight).

Temperatures are going to be dropping through out the day.  So a cool and damp day.

Not So Bad

Today: Cloudy with a chance of rain.  High of 65 low of 47.

We're not so bad today...better chance for rain tomorrow...it might just feel a little chilly out today because we won't have the sun to warm us up!

The polish invasion! My parents just went away to Poland, the motherland, and brought me back some of their fashions there...so of course I wear them all consecutively :) Such cute statement accessories!

Today is another perfect day! More sunshine and a little less of breeze today...and a little warmer! That's right every day we'll warm up just a bit until Sunday when we'll be in the mid 80s! And it gets even better...we might not even see a cloud in the sky until like Tuesday! Enjoy :)

Just today....and we're done with the clouds and rain.  After today look for the sunshine and that fall feel.  Tomorrow will be a little breezy as the low exits. But that's really ALL we'll have to deal with!

It's national TACO day! This has to be my all time favorite food...anything loaded with salsa really.  Here's some "low cal" recipes from Hungry Girl.

Today and Tomorrow

Tomorrow: Mostly cloudy with widely scattered showers.  High temp of 65 and low temp of 50.

The low pressure system will be with us today and tomorrow...and then the rest of the week and weekend looks good as a high pressure builds in. Should we start the countdown to the weekend, again?!?

How adorable are these fall treats?!? And the best part about it is....its so simple! It really does taste like cake batter...some even said the cookie dough you get in cookie dough ice cream?! YUM!

This is only one plate...it makes 1 other plate.

1 1/2 c. flour

1 c. yellow cake mix

1/2 c. butter

1/2 c. sugar

pinch of salt

sprinkles

chocolate and white chocolate chips

Mix the melted/softened butter with the sugar (you're supposed to use an electric mixer...but in my dorm door I do not have one) In a large bowl mix the flour, cake mix and salt together.  Add the butter mixture and mix it all up....add in sprinkles. Okay, dough might be a little powdery so add about 4 tablespoons of milk (of course, at the dorms i only have half & half creamers...that'll do)
Form the dough into little balls and freeze them for 10 minutes and then melt the chocolates and dip them...sprinkles on top for the finishing touch :)
